Jay Mallett
Jay Mallett was born and raised in the Baton Rouge area where he has raised 7 children and is the proud Papa of 13 grandchildren.
After 39 years in the steel industry, he now is full time stump grinding, bush hogging, and sawmilling. Doing what he loves!
Christian Mallett
Christian Mallett is a recent graduate of LSU with Bachelors of Science in Natural Resource Ecology and Management (Forestry). He excels in this field and was recognized as “Outstanding Sophomore of the Year” by his professors and peers. During his schooling, Christian enjoyed being an active member of Xi Sigma Pi Forestry Honors Society, Botany Club and Society of American Foresters.
He is a licensed Prescribed Burn Specialist and runs his portable sawmill business, Legacy Woodworks.

As an added service we have 2 mini loaders and multiple trailers to haul off trees, debris, and mulch generated from large stumps.
Bush Hoggin’
We can clear your land or maintain periodic cuts to keep trees and vines from growing and taking over your land.
Saw Millin’
Our sawmill and supporting equipment can process your logs to finished lumber. Our Wood-Mizer LT40 portable sawmill allows us to travel to you! Turning trees into slabs, boards, beams, and cookies gives your wood new life. We can cut boards and beams 21’ long, 28” wide, and ¼”-28” thick.
